Macalester College

Macalester College is a private undergraduate liberal arts institution located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Founded in 1874, Macalester College is widely known for academic excellence and a charming urban campus community.

EEA has effectively integrated engineering design and construction administration services for a variety of physical plant projects for Macalester College over the last several years.

New Ruth Stricker Dayton Campus Center
(85,000 SF) — Systems were engineered to integrate offices, conference facilities, food and support services

New George Draper Dayton Residence Hall
(40,000 SF) — Mechanical and electrical
systems integration.

Kagin Dining Hall Renovation — Total remodeling
of the existing campus dining facility.

Boiler Plant Renovation — Added new boiler to increase campus heating and thermal storage capacity. New chillers complete air conditioning provision including energy-efficient equipment and new pumping and piping throughout entire campus.

The expanded physical plant successfully met the increased heating and cooling demands. EEA was awarded the Minnesota Consulting Engineers Council Honor Award for design of the Macalester Physical Plant Expansion, and Macalester College received utility company rebates higher than estimated.
