An Arc Flash Analysis (or arc flash incident energy analysis) is an engineering study that provides detailed worker safety information for electrical equipment, panels, switch gear, and motor control centers within a facility. This information is essential for electricians to ensure that they have the correct level of personal protective equipment when they are working in electrically hazardous locations. Arc Flash Analysis is a requirement of OHSA and the National Electrical Code.
Our team of engineers and designers will work with your staff and visit your site to collect everything we need to document the electrical system. This part is the most critical step of the process. Without accurate information, the resulting calculations are meaningless. After the necessary information is gathered, we will construct a model of the electrical system utilizing state of the industry software. Once the model is complete, we can perform the short circuit analysis and protective device coordination, arc flash risk assessment, and complete a report detailing our findings, and provide safety labels identifying the hazard levels for electrical equipment.
